The calm mountain village Pontresina is just a few kilometers away from the popular tourist village St. Moritz.
Although you will not find in Pontresina outdoor bars with music, like in its neighbor St. Moritz, Pontresina attracts tourist on its own.

Muottas Muragl is a summit near Pontresina that can be reached by an old funicular (cable railway). The funicular base station (1,738 meters) is a traditional Engadine house with a typical decorated painting on the front wall.
At the summit there are a mountain hotel & restaurant, children's playground and hiking trails both in summer and winter.
In good weather conditions the views are spectacular, at winter the top attraction is a 4.2 Kilometers toboggan (sled) run from the summit till the base station. Toboggan can be hired at the base station, and there is an option for a day pass or single pass funicular ride.
